

Laser Technician
Here at Emerald House Associates we work alongside the most prestigious beauty, cosmetic and jewellery houses to design, manufacture and install point of purchase displays in department’s stores and airports throughout the UK.
We are looking for a new member of staff to join our Acrylics department running our Laser cutting machines, working across a couple of departments including Acrylic, print and the carpentry workshop. This is a fast pace business with lots of varied and exciting projects.
Job Purpose:
- Help to organise fast turnaround of projects to a quality
- Responsible for operating laser cutting machines, cutting various acrylics and laminates
- To produce precise components and parts by setting up, programming, monitoring and maintaining the
equipment.
- Ensuring high quality standards are met while adhering to safety regulations
- Programming laser cutting paths using computer-aided design (CAD) software to create the desired
component shapes
- Identifying and resolving any issues that arise during cutting process, such as laser alignment problems or
material feeding issues
- Adhering to all safety procedures related to laser operation
- Reporting to the Acrylic Department Manager
- Working alongside the In-house Manufacturing teams including acrylic and print.
- Loading and uploading materials onto the laser cutting table
- Using Diamond polisher to refine edges of cut acrylics
- Small item Assembly & fabrication
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Understanding of laser cutting technology, mechanics and basic principles of manufacturing
- Familiarity with CAD software and machine control interfaces
- Ability to precisely follow instructions and ensure high accuracy In cutting operations
- Can do attitude
- Knowledge of assembly and fabrication is an advantage but full training is available.
- Excellent time management skills
- Confidence and tact are essential
- Be able to work on own initiative and under pressure
- High level of self-motivation
- Hours of work 40 per week 8am – 4.30pm
